Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.

Life is messy, and sometimes circumstances out of our control get in the way of flourishing. When unexpected things happen we might need a different kind of support.

Still have questions?
I understand that seeking the help of a therapist can feel scary at first. Gaining a better understanding of some of the details can help reduce the discomfort or nervousness that you may be feeling. These are some of the most common questions I am asked by people who are considering therapy.
Yes, I offer a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation to help you get a better sense of whether my approach is a good fit for you. It’s also a chance for me to ensure I am a good clinical fit for the concerns you are bringing to therapy.
Educational background, clinical approach, and areas of expertise are all important things to consider. However a sense of safety and connection with the therapist, as well as feeling respected and understood are also key factors in assessing therapeutic fit.
Sessions are typically 50-55 minutes in length, which allows me a few minutes to complete any insurance, documentation, and follow up responsibilities of our work together. I charge $200 per therapeutic hour, which is slightly lower than the recommended fee schedule of my professional college (ACSW).
Payment is accepted by Mastercard or Visa, as well as e-transfer or cash.
Payment is required immediately following the session.
My services are covered by many health benefits programs such as Blue Cross, Canada Life, Manulife, Greenshield, and NHIB (Non-Insured Health Benefits for First Nations and Inuit). Direct billing is available for some insurance companies and others cover my services by reimbursement after payment. If coverage is by reimbursement you will receive a receipt upon payment that you can submit to your insurance company. If your insurance company is not listed here please reach out to inquire about your specific benefit plan.
Your commitment to our scheduled appointment time is expected and appreciated, however life is messy and sometimes things get in the way. Should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment I ask that you do so as soon as possible, and no less than 24 hours prior to the appointment time. This way I can offer the appointment time to a client on the waitlist. If you cancel our appointment within the 24 hour window you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $75.00. Clients who do not arrive for their in-person or virtual appointment within 15 minutes after the appointment start time, and have not advised me of a late arrival, will be considered a no-show and charged the late cancellation fee.
Our first session will be focused on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. We will also explore what you’d like to get out of therapy and discuss goals and a path forward. The first appointment may be overwhelming and scary, but I will do my best to make you feel comfortable and safe. I may ask about things that you are not ready to talk about, and I encourage you to only share what you are comfortable with. Subsequent sessions will be more therapeutic in nature, although I will do my best in our initial session to offer certain thoughts or observations of your concerns.
In-person and online sessions are both available.
I work individually with people who are over the age of 18. Professional ethics require me to work within my scope of practice and I do not have the necessary training to work with children or couples.
Yes, I offer both daytime and evening session times.
